Meet Mapcon Mondays - Featuring Chris List
Welcome to another edition of Meet Mapcon Mondays, a monthly interview series starring one of Mapcon's illustrious employees. This time we're sitting down with Programmer Chris List to hear about his tenure here at Mapcon Technologies, Inc.
Q: Introduce yourself.
A: I'm the best. Seriously, I'm Chris List, Tier 2 Technical Support and Programmer.
I work with Java and a little with html. Recently, I made MAPCON's work request page Spanish friendly. I also assist customers with writing reports, as well as updating systems, and helping with server issues.
Q: Without revealing a deep, dark secret (unless you want to), tell us something about yourself most people don't know.
A: I'm an Eagle Scout and I drive a stick.
Q: Tell us about your Mapcon experience.
A: I've been here a little over three years. At that time, we were on version 6.4.2. We've had several versions since then as we're now on 7.3.
Fun factoid: Mapcon JDK. That's my baby. Because a piece of software we're using was being moved to subscription based, it wasn't fair to have customers pay for MAPCON and for the software within the CMMS, so I helped developed a free version of that software.
One of the best things about MAPCON, in my opinion, is we're willing to customize whatever the customers want.
Q: Outside of work, tell us what you enjoy.
A: I like playing video games. I have a gaming PC and PlayStation. I enjoy hanging out with my wiener dog, Kinnick, who is 13 years old. He's still pretty spry, with not too many gray hairs.
Q: What is one aspect about Mapcon you would like customers and future customers to know?
A: Always feel free to call for support. If it's something small, don't agonize trying to figure it out for an hour, when you could just call us quick. Another nice thing about Mapcon is it's a small office, so when people call, they probably have talked to the same support person before.
Chris is a valued member of the Mapcon team, and we can't wait to see what other innovations he'll forge in the future! Join us again next month to get to know another member of the Mapcon family.
