Ask MAPCON - August 2024
Once again, Mapcon presents questions from our valued customers that are answered by members of our support team, eager to be of assistance.
Question: What are some examples of filters for MAPCON reports?
Answer: Reports are how MAPCON gives you the answers you need to conduct your business successfully.
- When is the last time I bought this part? From Who, and for how much $?
- Did we complete all the open work orders on machine X last week?
- How much did we spend on everything, parts and labor included, taking care of this piece of equipment last year? How about over the last 5 years? Can I see the trend of spending more to maintain it like I think it is?
Filters are a critical part of doing research: What time frame? Who was involved on work orders? What else was worked on in addition to the main problem? Did we buy anything we didn’t have on hand in the stockroom to complete the job? and so forth.
MAPCON makes it so easy, simply click on a Report to run it, and the Filter window displays with a standard list of filters for everything imaginable. The date range on transactions are the most popular, but virtually any data can be filtered.
- The equipment ID number – show me a work order history.
- The Vendor – show me everything we have bought from them.
- The Inventory spare part number – is there another stockroom location where I can find this?
- The work orders – show me everything Bob worked on for the last year.
Users input data every day into MAPCON to track their activities of what they were doing and what they were working on. Use Report Filters to extract that data and tell the big story of who what why when where to show everyone the big picture.
Need to justify replacing an old dinosaur with lots of repair history? Let MAPCON tell the complete story to help make that decision a lot easier to let it go. Need to keep a lot more parts on hand, which means spending money up front? Justify the expense with comprehensive reports from MAPCON to show the total cost impact of downtime when parts are not available, and how the repair expenses go through the roof if you don’t have it handy.
