Meet Mapcon Mondays - Featuring Chris Kane
Welcome to another edition of Meet Mapcon Mondays, a monthly interview series starring one of Mapcon's illustrious employees. This time we're sitting down with Chris Kane to hear about his tenure here at Mapcon Technologies, Inc.
Q: Introduce yourself.
A: Chris Kane, an old-timer, once a smart guy, now a web developer.
Q: Without revealing a deep, dark secret (unless you want to), tell us something about yourself most people don't know.
A: I rode a motorcycle across Canada and down the west coast and only dumped it twice. I climbed Mount Whitney, jumped out of perfectly good airplanes, and flew on helicopters under bridges in Europe. I drove big trucks cross-country for a few years (and only caused one big wreck). Then I moved to Iowa, and it's been peace and quiet ever since.
Q: Tell us about your Mapcon experience.
A: I've been working for Mapcon for just over 15 years. I've witnessed four 'moves' in that time as the company has grown and expanded into its very own building here in Des Moines. Mapcon has a happy crew of intelligent and hard-working people that provide one of the first and best Computerized Maintenance Management System software applications in existence today.
Q: Outside of work, tell us what you enjoy.
A: I ain't gonna lie: I enjoy money. Fact is, I can't get enough of the stuff. I'm working on an AI app that looks for loose dollars (or heck, pennies) floating around that no one claims. The app isn't ready yet, though. Investors welcome.
Q: What is one aspect about Mapcon you would like customers and future customers to know?
A: Mapcon considers its team members and customers like family. And that reveals itself through the excellence of our software, our willingness to customize, and the awesome results in cost savings and protection of profit margins experienced by our clients across the globe.
Chris is a valued member of the Mapcon team, and we can't wait to see what other developments on the website he'll forge in the future! Join us again next month to get to know another member of the Mapcon family.
